Pricing FAQ
Is Velo really free?
Yes, completely. Every protocol, every feature, no trial that expires, no paid upgrade. There's no "free tier" with a paid tier above it — there's just Velo, free.
What's the catch?
There isn't one. Velo costs roughly $0 per user to run because it's a native macOS app — no servers, no cloud sync, no telemetry. We don't sell data, don't show ads, don't have a team plan lurking. If you want to support development, there's a buy-me-a-coffee link. That's the entire revenue model.
Will it stay free?
Yes. The architecture is deliberately structured so adding a paid tier later would mean degrading the free one. We're not interested in that. If we ever build something premium, it'll be a separate product and Velo stays as-is.
Are there feature limits on the free version?
No. Unlimited collections, unlimited environments, unlimited request history, all import/export formats, all keyboard shortcuts, all protocols. The only limits come from your machine.
Do I need an account?
No. Velo never asks you to sign up, sign in, or share an email. Download the .dmg, drag to Applications, open. That's the whole onboarding.
Is the source code open?
The app itself is closed-source. The Homebrew tap formulae and this site are open. We may open-source parts of Velo in the future but no commitment yet.
Velo is a free tool from Ataiva. No strings attached.
